“Modern life has taught us how to survive, but forgotten how to live.”

Vaatalya exists as a response
to this forgetting.

How did it start?

In 2007, one family left the city and chose the mountains. They did not build a business. They built a life — learning from the land, growing their own food, creating with what was available, slowly shaping a home to be shared. What you experience today is not a project. It is the continuation of that life.

Visionary Hosts: Pavan and Indu are the heartbeat of Vaatalya, having transitioned from corporate life to cultivate a sustainable, off-grid sanctuary in the Himalayas.

Eco-Conscious Philosophy: Together, they champion a "less is more" lifestyle, focusing on regenerative travel, organic farming, and deep community integration.

Soulful Hospitality: They don’t just run a retreat; they offer an intimate experience where guests are treated like family and invited to reconnect with nature's rhythm.

People of Vaatalya

The people who live and work at Vaatalya come from many worlds — professional, creative, rural, urban. They are the ones who built this place and care for it each day.

You may meet them in the kitchen, on trails, in the garden, over tea, in silence — and during workshops. They choose presence over performance.

Conversation over content. A quieter way of living, rooted in work, nature, and community.

Our Work

100% Self-Funded Impact
We operate on three bottom lines: People, Planet, and Profit. We follow Triple Bottom Line Since 2007, we have refused external funding, relying instead on revenue from your stay to fuel our research, education, and ecological innovations.

We collaborate, we research, we educate, and we inspire change.
